Michael Copp and family in the 1940 blitz

Not Aldington-related, but NCLSN correspondent Michael Copp writes this fascinating reminiscence of Christmas 1940 in a blitz shelter.

  1. What a sweet story, Mike! And the photos are priceless. In working on biography (as I am again doing now), I am aware of how much we owe to those who kept documents (school certificates, clippings of reviews, receipts, accounts…) and made records (written, photographic, private, published…). How would be able to tell our (scholarly, historical, personal) stories without them?
